When we designed it in 2003, the Plus V3 was the thinnest DLP projector in the world. It utilized a collapsing lens mechanism that allowed it to attain unprecedented physical dimensions. In a time when most projectors weighed many pounds and took two hands to lift, the V3 was a true breakthrough and was one of the first products to show the promise of small ultra-portable projectors. 10 years later, it would likely still hold its own against much newer technology.

I worked on the V3 with Ignition and Plus through my own freelance-based design firm in the early 2000s. The V3 was built nearly verbatim from my initial design concept.
The V3's signature lens mechanism extended, with its collapsed state in reflection.
